It was a fun and productive day for everyone.
Thank you all so much for contributing to get the "Time for Kids" nonfiction resource and Spelling City. It will be so useful every week of the year and will include valuable home-school connections to extend the classroom learning. :)
Thank you all for signing the release forms right away as well. Every one has been received. ;) Hopefully, a clip of he class will make the final TED talk cut. ;)
Please remember to turn in your homework packets tomorrow. Trying a two week homework since weather was two weeks was a good experiment. The conversations were much stronger when we did weekly homework, so plan on that when we return. :)
While yo are away on vacation, please go rock collecting. Many of you are going to far away places for the week. Rocks from different environments would be wonderful. Please pack a zippered baggy or container and encourage your child to find 10 different tues of rocks. We will compare, contrast, and analyze the rocks that are brought in when we return. In an effort to save paper and make the blog serve its purpose, a note will not be sent home. Anyone who collects rocks will get to share them when we return.
Speaking of sharing, we have so many amazing scientists in our class. Every day begins with something incredible being shared that shows natural enthusiasm for what we are learning and strong initiative. Hooray!
Table talk for today:
??? What did you start building as a structural engineer ?
??? What did you say when you were interviewed as a meteorologist ?
??? Can you show me how to add 245 and 327?
??? How do you think you did on your weather test today? What questions do you remember?
??? How were you a bucket filler today?
??? Who filled your bucket today? (Stay positive ;))
??? What could you do tomorrow to fill someone's bucket?
??? Who shared something today? What did they share ? How did that connect to our learning?
