Our first entry into the land of adventure involved an interactive scenario in which each child had to make decisions using critical thinking at each scene. It was very fun!
??? What adventure did you go on in Africa?
??? What 5 items did you choose to bring with you?
??? Did those turn out to be good choices? Why or why not?
The poster above was a visual link from electronics to Jane Goodall's chimpanzees and conservation. After reading about chimpanzees, experiencing the simulation, and discussing ways to protect the habitats, your child designed and created his/her own poster on the iPad to teach adults how to protect the chimpanzees. They are sooooo beautiful! You'll be able to enjoy them on Thursday night. Each child's approach, point of view, and choice of emphasis was unique and meaningful.
??? What was your poster about?
??? What was on it?
Your child also wrote speech or thought bubbles taking on four different points of view (multiple perspectives): a chimpanzee, Jane Goodall, the native Africans living in the Congo, and himself/herself. It clearly showed that every child truly understands the big idea of protecting the environment for animal habitat preservation. :)
??? What did you say (each person/chimp) would say in your "multiple perspectives" writing?
