Is your child humming or singing a song about the continents? We are learning the names, locations, key countries, and a representative animal from each region. Your child practiced our song while pointing to the locations on the map he/she created last week to help us with latitude and longitude coordinate locations. Today your child added a legend with the animal from each region along with the Arctic, Antarctica, and the Galapagos Islands (to connect to what we will end our year with- prelinking :)).
??? What are the 7 continents?
??? On which continent would you find . . . the United States, Columbia, Tanzania, China, Russia, Australia, Mexico, Canada, France, Ireland, etc.
??? Which animal did you add to your legend to represent . . . (name each continent)

We also ranked our predictions of bacterial growth and are excited to compare them with the real results tomorrow morning. Tomorrow will also include our Meet the Masters lesson which they are so excited to enjoy.

Upcoming areas of focus:
This week: continue mapping leading to the compass and north/south poles
Next week: magnetic field of the Earth and magnetism
After that: magnetism will be linked to our enthusiastic study of electricity to study electromagnetism
Then: that will link us to fish which will begin our focus on life science - You can try to guess how. :)
Spring break- Fish will likely begin right before spring break or perhaps right after. The class is customized to your children, so there is no set schedule or deadline for their learning. :)
