Thank you all for the beautiful sign on the door and the flowers today. It was a lovely way to start the day! :)

Our butterflies are happily enjoying their freedom to fly in our classroom butterfly habitat with many children eagerly checking on them throughout the day. If a few pieces of fruit were not eaten by your children, then they are being enjoyed by our butterflies. Hopefully you had a chance to view the images in the slideshow posted yesterday. After two hours and multiple apps, at least a link worked. :) (A long afternoon was spent at a vet's office with poor wifi.)

Your child has probably mentioned the chapter book read aloud series we are enjoying. After a long search for just the right read aloud for our group of friends, this series was discovered. It is perfect for so many reasons: 1. features a mad scientist
2. applies so much of the science vocabulary we have learned to make numerous connections
3. the humor is hilarious for their age - written by a comic strip author
4. unexpected plot twists but predictable outcomes that enhance elements of reading narrative text
5. interactive features that engage the group throughout
6. a rare, funny, science based narrative that is as much fun to read as it is to hear

They groan when the reading stops which is the best sign of being truly engaged. Cute! There are 7 books in the series featuring the mad scientist who doesn't fit in with her family, friends, or new school. We are on book 2.

Thank you to the families who sent in the photos. A few children will share tomorrow, because we had testing and PE today.

We had our second "Review Rally" with great success and learning opportunities. It was very fun!

Day one of testing went very well for everyone. The children not testing had a fun time applying what they learned with Ryan's mom. The children who tested tried their best with positive attitudes. :)
