Thank you all for keeping it quiet for so long. Your children did find out at the very end of the day. Apparently screams could be heard outside the walls.  Hopefully the novelty, excitement, and idea won't wear off by September. :)

The video is unedited and not spliced. Warning: turn your audio down toward the middle.

There are many bits of information which will be listed below.

1. Earthquake kits were kept on purpose. Sending them home just to have them brought back is a waste of time. When school starts, you can send in a few extra food items if you are worried.

2. This blog will remain active until the school starts again. Every year I create a new blog (even when I loop), so a fresh new site will be created over the summer to reflect a completely new year. The blog will then be removed from public access.

3. I will upload videos, photos, parent ed info, and opportunities throughout the summer (weekly most likely), so please try to check once a week or so. What we will be doing next year will be very different and "new" to typical education, so some information may be shared throughout the summer to help build shared background knowledge.

4. The text number will remain the same. I was lucky to design one with a palindrome in parts, so I don't want to give it up. You are all welcome to text throughout the summer.

5. If you want to offer an opportunity to the group, feel free to contact our room parent or text me to put it on the blog. That also goes for cutting edge information you may come across to share with the rest of us. It takes a team . . .

6. Videos of today will be uploaded to the blog some time next week.

7. Every year for the past 17 years, I have made a multimedia gift for the end of the year. Years ago, it was a slide show everyone attended. (Yes, I have taught that long. :0 ).  As technology changed, it became a dvd which has been created and given to each family for the past 12 years. This year there was simply toooooooo much video to chop and little time while creating our unique learning experiences. So, it will be compiled in the next few weeks when the time spent will not be taking away from planning for your child's learning. :) I can't break my streak.

8. Speaking of streaks, that's why the blog is continued throughout the summer. It is a habit now for most of you that we want maintained for next year. :) By the way, if your child has not shown you how to put his/her personal app on your phone/iPad - please ask. Every child has created his/her own app for you.

9. The room was completely redesigned with fresh walls and new layout for next year. Your children did a terrific job of suggesting ideas.

10. We made a fun parody today, but it is on Kimberly's phone. Mine is now full. :) The video will be uploaded next week. She graduates tomorrow and goes on to college in Massachusetts next year.

Most importantly, thank you for all of your . . .
time
help
ideas
support
and trust.

Welcome back to a true team! :)
