Thank you to Owen and Kirsten's family for volunteering to send in 1 set of 9 blocks of wood.
The children created the dimensions, but the size really does not matter. In fact, different sizes for measurement practice would be even better.
The goal is to make the concept of length, width, and depth relevant. Any old pieces of wood that might be laying around and could be cut (before arriving) will work (ex: old 2 by 4's). We will be painting them, so it doesn't matter how they look. As long as they are rectangular prisms that can stand vertically on their own and are bug free, they will work.
Any other wood cutters out there ? Perhaps just people who love hardware stores and will ask for the wood to be cut? :) There are really only 2 things I cannot handle: swim lessons and hardware stores. Thank you!!!
