Important: The site for the videos has reached the maximum amount of free storage. To add more requires a monthly fee, so another upload site was just created. Thank you to the parent who sent the message. :) Everything is the same except the email address. Flat Stanley now has a cloud server. :) Please follow the same process substituting the following email address only: flatstanley212@yahoo.com It's all set to collect more amazing videos! :) Today we finished reading the last chapters of Walt Disney's biography, made a timeline of important events in his life, and used a Tree Map to organize important things we learned into the following iconic categories: across the disciplines, multiple perspectives change over time (combined), details, and contribution. Your child will use the timeline and Tree Map to write a biography of Walt Disney's life tomorrow. They are really understanding how planning helps in the writing process. Tomorrow is the monthly mandatory grade level meeting for the group I meet with each month, so there will be a sub. A request for a longtime favorite was submitted and the children know. They will write their biographies, teach the sub about Walt Disney and why he is important and relevant to our lives, and take a math assessment to determine next steps for our math wall on iPads. Your child might ask you to perform "error analysis" on the Disney newspaper. They were thrilled to use the editing symbols to fix a significant error in an article. :) Since we focus so much time on the importance of checking work, rereading (except the blog :) ), and analyzing errors to determine learning opportunities, it will not be a surprise to tell you that they predicted a few reasons why that error may have taken place. If you hear that you have an editing job tonight, then your child was a terrific listener.
