The children are enjoying our focus this week for people who changed our world in positive ways. We are learning about the inventions of Thomas Edison and how Steve Jobs could not have changed our world without the contributions of Edison. Two groups met to explore and discover electrical circuits. Tomorrow the other two groups will meet. :)

The children finished their midyear benchmark assessments and the data will be used to redefine our areas of focus when we return.

The rest of the week will wrap up our investigation into Thomas Edison and Steve Jobs.  When we return we will learn about electricity by building circuits and robots. The groups who met were so enthusiastic when they finally built a circuit to make the light shine. :)

FYI - All second grade classrooms will be enjoying a pajama day on Friday, so please help your child locate a fun pair of pajamas or a robe to wear over them. : ) Everyone in our room will join in the Pajama Day fun which will include some hot cocoa. ;)

Our class was able to fill up two boxes of food (and gift cards) to donate to those in need. Your generosity is appreciated!

FYI - Last night, the viewpure sight was not functioning properly. The websites straight from YouTube were embedded on the "flipped" page for your homework instead.
