You probably heard about our CGI problem related to the Tower of Terror today. :) It was fun! As with all CGI math problem solving experiences, your child chose his/her own numbers from four given options and applied the following:
- strategies for solving math story problems
- comprehension of story problems
- identifying what is being asked
- identifying the order of steps in the multistep problem
- error analysis while sharing
- comparing and contrasting while sharing
- identifying strategies used while sharing
- using a table as a strategic tool to organize information
Today we did the first two parts of the multistep problem. Tomorrow we will apply that to the last scenario at the Tower of Terror ride. :)
We are finishing Walt Disney with CGI and the scavenger hunt tomorrow and Wednesday and will begin reading to learn about Neil Armstrong tomorrow.
Homework:
- Apologies to all who looked for the math for tonight over the weekend. Homework is sent home early each week knowing many families have extra curricular activities during the week, so it may have posed a problem at your home to find it missing. It was simply overlooked while stapling the homework for the week. It is in your child's homework folder today. :)
- As always, minimize any sections that allow you to do any extracurricular activities or holiday prep. The children came in talking about getting trees this week, looking forward to decorating, etc. Since Back to School Night, the same homework policy stands. Do what is best for your family. It will change from week to week.
