Did you see the hail? We did! It was a very exciting day for weather connections. They jumped at the thunder and loved the pouring rain. :)

Our morning began with CGI problem solving.
??? What was your CGI problem about?
??? What did you do to solve it?
??? Why did you use a t-chart? How did it help?

Your child created a new "curiosity" to add to the collection, continued working on his/her special Valentine's Day project, and planned the sequence of events for their adventure stories.

Each child shared the tangram creations, watched a recorded video clip of pandas in China, scanned to arrive at the live Panda Cam at the San Diego Zoo (internet problems today), then listened to a book about pandas and China for Chinese New Year. We also discussed the legend of Nian which they seemed to really enjoy this week for homework.

Next week, we will continue to explore mapping, writing adventure stories, and end with Valentine's Day.

Thursday morning (Valentine's Day), we will have a special Chinese New Year celebration Lion Dance in the quad. It was amazing last year! You are all invited to join the celebration. A few of our students who are enrolled in the after school Mandarin class will actually be the lions. :)
